Mero Kitta Nepal: Official Portal, App Login and How to Measure Your Plot

If you typed mero kitta into Google this morning, you probably already have a lalpurja in a drawer — or a broker just sent you a kitta number and a blurry photo. You want the official map. Mero Kitta Nepal (मेरो कित्ता) is the Survey Department portal that gets you the government sheet. It will not, however, turn that sheet into square feet, ropani–aana or bigha–kattha while you sit on the sofa. On the portal itself the system is labelled NeLIS Public Access Portal (MeroKitta). NeLIS is the Nepal Land Information System — the Survey Department’s (नापी विभाग) land-information backbone. Mero Kitta is the citizen window onto it. It launched in 2021 so you could request a map print, a plot-register extract or a field-book page without standing in a napi queue.

• It is official. Use only merokitta.dos.gov.np and the Play listing published by Survey Department. Lookalikes that sell a “kitta number check” of anyone’s land are not the government.
• It is an application desk, not Google Maps. You file a request for a parcel you can identify, then track that request with the mobile number and OTP you were sent.
• It delivers records, not measurements. The mero kitta pdf you download is a survey drawing. The area printed on the lalpurja is the legal figure. Measuring the outline is a separate job.
• It is not affiliated with GharNaksa. We use the official sheet the same way you will: as the source drawing. Then we measure it.

• New request — merokitta.dos.gov.np/application/main for map print, plot register, field book or a field-survey request.

For a citizen, that is not how the mero kitta pranali is built. You do not create a long-lived account. You file an application, the system texts an OTP, and that pair — mobile plus OTP — is how you come back. Institutional users (offices, banks, firms) have a separate username, password or QR login. That is not the citizen path.

How to use Mero Kitta, step by step

1. 1Open the application form on the website or in the official app.
2. 2Pick the survey office, the local unit and the service. Map print (नक्सा प्रिन्ट) is the one that returns the digital naksha — the mero kitta map.
3. 3Fill citizenship and lalpurja details. Attach flat, well-lit scans (typically around 1 MB each). Photograph the papers on a table, not a crumpled HEIC from your pocket.
4. 4Enter a mobile number you can actually reach. The OTP goes there. Write it down. If the number is wrong, the request is effectively lost.
5. 5Wait for the office. The department has directed offices to work through applications in turn, often within about 15 days, but load varies.
6. 6When a fee is due you are told by SMS. Pay through the channel the portal offers (ConnectIPS or a bank voucher, depending on the office).
7. 7When the digital naksha is ready, another SMS tells you. Use the OTP on the download link. The mero kitta pdf is typically available for seven days. Download it immediately and keep a copy.

Mero Kitta app download (and what not to install)

The official mero kitta app is on Google Play, published by Survey Department, package `np.gov.dos.merokitta`. Search “Mero Kitta”, confirm that publisher, then install. • Plot register print — the tabular extract for that kitta.
• Field book print — the surveyor’s notes from the original measurement.
• Field survey request — ask the office to mark the land on the ground when the paper and the fence do not agree.

None of those files, by themselves, tell your phone how many square feet the shape is. The area on the lalpurja is the legal number. The drawing is the shape. If you want to design a house, price a listing, or sanity-check “4 aana road-touch” before a family WhatsApp vote, you still have to measure the outline.

Common mistakes on Mero Kitta (and after)

• Logging in on a lookalike site. If the address is not merokitta.dos.gov.np, close the tab.
• Losing the OTP or using a number you cannot reach. Status and download both depend on it.
• Missing the seven-day PDF window. Download the same day.
• Treating the traced area as the legal area. The lalpurja and the survey office still win.
• Calibrating a tilted phone photo. A warped sheet cannot be fixed by a single scale factor. Shoot flat, or use the official PDF.
• Paying per aana without measuring the shape. The deed, the fence and the trace can all disagree. Measure before the balance.
