Example rates only — replace with local quotes

Prefilled rates are planning defaults for Nepal, not quotations. Timber species and seasoning, glass thickness, uPVC profile brand, aluminium section series and imported hardware move these numbers a lot. Edit every rate before you rely on the total.

Useful when comparing a per-piece carpenter or fabricator quote

Planning estimate only—not a quotation or BOQ. Polishing and painting, mosquito netting, safety glass upgrades, sliding or folding systems, arched or non-standard shapes, main-door carving, VAT and site fixing beyond the fabricator's scope are not included unless you add them to the rates.

What this estimate assumes

How the opening schedule is priced

  • Doors and windows are priced on opening area (width × height), which is how most Nepal carpenters and uPVC/aluminium fabricators quote.
  • Hardware is a per-piece allowance, not an area rate, because locks and hinges do not scale with the size of the opening.
  • Grills are charged on window area only. Turn them off for upper floors or where a safety-glass system replaces them.
  • Use average sizes for a quick number; run the calculator once per opening type when you want a proper schedule.

Formulas used

  • Door area = doors × width × height
  • Window area = windows × width × height
  • Hardware = doors × per-door fitting + windows × per-window fitting
  • Grills (if on) = window area × grill rate
  • Total = (door + window + hardware + grill) × (1 + contingency%)
